So wirst du besser in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive!

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ist nach wie vor einer der beliebtesten Shooter der Welt. Deshalb zeigen wir allen Neueinsteigern, was ihr unbedingt wissen solltet.

CS:GO basiert auf Gameplay, das jeder schnell erlernen kann. Trotzdem bietet es so viel tiefe und taktische Möglichkeiten, dass selbst die besten Spieler der Welt immer wieder Neues dazu lernen können. Genau das macht für viele den Reiz aus.

Jede Runde startet ähnlich. Ihr befindet euch im Spawn eures Teams und entscheidet euch für eine Waffe und Ausrüstung. Danach müsst ihr entweder eine Bombsite angreifen oder verteidigen, je nachdem auf welcher Seite ihr steht. Dennoch läuft nie eine Runde wie die andere ab. Daher solltet ihr auf alles vorbereitet sein.

Doch wo startet man bei so viel Information? Wir erklären euch, was ihr vor euren ersten Matchmaking-Abenteuern auf jeden Fall wissen müsst.

Teamplay ist das A und O

Auch wenn man von Youtube-Highlights und dem Matchmaking vielleicht anderes gewohnt ist: Counter-Strike ist ein teambasiertes Spiel. Selbst, wenn ihr aimtechnisch einen schlechten Tag habt, könnt ihr eurem Team mit guten Calls und Granaten einen Vorteil verschaffen.

Verschafft euch also einen Überblick über die Karten, die ihr spielen wollt. Wo könnt ihr Gegner erwarten? Wie heißen die Positionen? Wenn ihr eure Mitspieler über die Positionen der Gegner informieren könnt, seid ihr schon überdurchschnittlich hilfreich.

Ebenso gilt es, einen kühlen Kopf zu bewahren. Ihr sterbt zum dritten mal in Folge durch einen Headshot? Egal, sagt wo der Schuss her kam und gut ist. Die noch lebenden Spieler wollen die Gegner hören und keine lauten Schreie im Teamchat.

Die Waffenmechaniken

In CS:GO ist so gut wie nichts dem Zufall überlassen. Das gilt auch für das Handling der Waffen, das sich extrem von anderen Shootern wie Call of Duty unterscheidet.

Eure ersten Schüsse mit einer Waffe sind normalerweise sehr präzise, solange ihr euch beim Schießen nicht bewegt. Allerdings entsteht bei länger anhaltenden Feuerstößen das sogenannte Recoil. Um dieses auszugleichen, müsst ihr eure Maus genau in die entgegengesetzte Richtung bewegen.

Der Clou an der ganzen Sache: Jede Waffe hat ein bestimmtes Muster, das ihr auswendig lernen könnt. Somit könnt ihr lernen, das Recoil perfekt zu kontrollieren und auch auf mittlere Distanzen akkurat sprayen. Trotzdem seid ihr damit niemals 100 Prozent genau, da es auch den sogenannten Spread gibt.

Dieser bestimmt über eine je nach Waffe festgelegte Größe, wie stark die Kugeln von dem erlernbaren Recoil-Muster abweichen und ist zufällig. Da der Spread aber eher gering ist, lohnt es sich trotzdem, die Muster zu lernen. Wie genau ihr das am besten anstellt, erklärt der Youtuber WarOwl in einem exzellenten Video.

Das Geldsystem

Solange ihr nicht dauerhaft nur Deathmatch und Danger Zone spielen wollt, müsst ihr euch irgendwann mit dem Geldsystem in Counter-Strike auseinandersetzen. Von dem Geld, das ihr durch Kills und nach jeder Runde verdient, müsst ihr euch nämlich eure Waffen und Equipment kaufen.

Zu Beginn jeder Spielhälfte starten beide Teams mit nur 800 Dollar. Das heißt, dass nur Pistolen Granaten, oder Kevlar gekauft werden können. Diese Pistolenrunden sind trotzdem enorm wichtig, da sie häufig in Folgerunden resultieren. Das Gewinnerteam hat mehr Geld und dementsprechend bessere Ausrüstung für Runde zwei.

Alle Spieler behalten ihre Ausrüstung für die nächste Runde nur, wenn sie überleben. Deshalb kommt es nach einer verlorenen Runde häufig vor, dass euer Team eine Runde sparen muss, um danach wieder richtig einkaufen zu können. Eine solche Runde nennt sich Eco-Runde.

Im laufenden Spiel solltet ihr stets darauf achten, wie viel Geld euer restliches Team besitzt. Seid ihr der einzige Spieler mit genug Geld für eine Waffe und Kevlar, solltet ihr dieses besser sparen, bis ihr als Team wieder zusammen kaufen könnt.

Außerdem könnt ihr Teammates, die zu wenig Geld haben, eure Waffen legen und euch Neue kaufen. Dafür ist die richtige Kommunikation und Achtsamkeit notwendig.

  • SMG: 600 $ (außer P90: 300 $)

  • Sturm-, Scharfschützen- und Maschinengewehr: 300 $ (außer AWP: 100 $)
  • Granate: 300 $
  • Zeus x27: 0 $
  • Messer: 1500 $

Rundenbasierte Belohnungen:

  • Sieg durch Kills: 3250 $
  • Sieg durch abgelaufene Zeit (nur CT-Side): 3250 $
  • Sieg durch entschärfte Bombe (nur CT-Side): 3500 $ + 300 $ für den Entschärfer
  • Bombe explodiert (nur T-Side): 3500 $
  • Bombe gelegt (nur T-Side): 300 $

Verlorene Runden:

  • Erste verlorene Runde: 1400 $
  • Zweite verlorene Runde in Folge: 1900 $
  • Dritte in Folge: 2400 $
  • Vierte in Folge: 2900 $
  • Fünfte und mehr in Folge: 3400 $

Mit diesen Grundlagen solltet ihr in euren ersten Matches gut zurecht kommen. Der wichtigste Punkt ist aber, am Ball zu bleiben und sich durch ein oder zwei schlechte Matches nicht frustrieren zu lassen. Wer gut werden will, muss Zeit investieren und braucht auch ein gewisses Durchhaltevermögen.

Anonymous Mode and Guild quest tracker added in the latest Dota 2 update

The recent ongoing talk in the Dota 2 community about the in-game toxicity triggered the implementation of two new tools aimed to improve the quality of life when playing against humans.

Players can now choose to play with the Anonymous Mode on, which, in essence, is an upgraded “mute all chat” tool. While playing using the mode, players won’t be able to see any chat messages (allies and foes included and they won’t see the players’ name nor the avatars.) The Anonymous Mode, however, allows the players to see all the above if they are friends with any other player in the game.  The mode is available for all Dota 2 players, regardless of owning a TI10 Battle Pass or not.

Anonymous Mode is also preventing players to see any incoming guild invites. This is good news especially for streamers who can easily get their channels banned when receiving invites from guilds that have inappropriate guild banner images or that have racial slurs included in the guild name.

The second tool is designed exclusively for the Battle Pass owners as it adds on the top left of the screen a Guild quest tracker which is especially helpful for those who are in guilds of level 3 or higher and are able to work toward completion of more than one guild contract during a game.

Dr Disrespect news: Twitch fans still want to know what happened with ban

Since June 26, gamers and fans of Dr Disrespect have been waiting to find out more about the streaming stars ban from Twitch.

And while there have been statements from both sides, nothing new has been shared on the matter.

This includes the alleged news that Dr Disrespect has been permanently banned from the platform, and months after renewing an exclusive contract.

Streaming star Dr Disrespect spoke out about his recent ban from Twitch using his Twitter account, but has not posted anything new since.

This happened on Saturday, June 27, with Dr Disrespect offering no further clarification regarding the situation.

A Twitch representative told Radio 1 Newsbeat that the streamer had acted in violation of the platform’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, but failed to go into specifics.

“We take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service”, the statement reads.

The ambiguous statement has left fans wondering why exactly Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch.

The recent update from Dr Disrespect doesn’t offer much else and leaves many gamers still puzzled at the current situation.

The statement from the streamer, shared on Twitter, reads: “Champions Club, Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision… Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time.”

Dr Disrespect’s wife also shared a message via Instagram, which addressed his community of fans.

That message reads: “The outpouring of love, support, strength and kindness from the arena has truly been overwhelming.

“You all have made my heart full and I can not thank you enough. No one better out there than the CC. You guys are amazing.”

These are the three main statements covering the Twitch ban for Dr Disrespect, and it appears to be the only official information fans will be getting this week.

It’s not the first time Dr Disrespect has been banned from stream, although a previous ban for streaming from a public bathroom during E3 2019 was only temporary.

The ban notice that has been put in place this month has removed all content from the Dr Disrespect Twitch page, while fans have reported receiving refunds from the CC.

The Champions Club website remains active and continues to offer Dr Disrespect mechanise, along with the following description:

“Dr Disrespect is the Two Time Consecutive Blockbuster Video Game Champion (1993-1994). He is known for his iconic 6’8 frame, 37-inch vertical leap, and the Bullet Proof Mullet aka the Black Steel that runs down his spine.

“His sunglasses are Google Prototype Scopes with built-in LCD LED 1080p 3D Sony technology. He rules the Arena with violence, speed, and momentum; and his reign has just begun.”

Before his channel was removed, Dr Disrespect had more than 4 million followers. It follows the news that President Donald Trump’s Twitch account had been temporarily suspended this week.

Twitch provided the following statement: “Hateful conduct is not allowed on Twitch.

“In line with our policies, President Trump’s channel has been issued a temporary suspension from Twitch for comments made on stream, and the offending content has been removed.

“Like anyone else, politicians on Twitch must adhere to our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

“We do not make exceptions for political or newsworthy content, and will take action on content reported to us that violates our rules.”

Xbox Boss Talks About Importance Of First-Party Games, And Why Xbox Won't Copy PlayStation's Approach

Microsoft’s Xbox team has in the past been criticized for a perceived lack of first-party exclusives compared to PlayStation and other competing platforms. But going forward, Xbox boss Phil Spencer doesn’t believe that will be an issue. After acquiring studios like Obsidian, Double Fine, and Ninja Theory, and starting a new studio with the writer of Red Dead Redemption, Microsoft now has 15 Xbox Games Studios teams, all of which are developing content exclusively for Xbox and PC.

These studio acquisitions and formations came at no small expense, of course, and Spencer recently spoke about how this was made possible thanks to the leadership from Microsoft higher-ups believing in Spencer’s vision.

“First-party content is really important to where we’re going,” Spencer said during a recent GameLab event. “It’s important to our hardware platforms, it’s important to things like Game Pass and our overall gaming strategy at Microsoft. As we got in place the new leadership team a few years ago, we started building our strategy and articulating our strategy internally to the company, it was really encouraging to see the support that we were getting from the board and the senior leadership team at the company to go and grow our first-party.”

Spencer said he feels “really good” about its numerous internal game studios and the projects they are working on. He also teased that “many” of the company’s upcoming games have not been announced yet.

Also during the event, Spencer said he does not want to try to copy a competitor’s approach to first-party game development. Some people have spoken about PlayStation titles like Uncharted and God of War and asked Microsoft where its equivalent games are. Spencer said Microsoft is thinking differently.

“We know it’s important–we know it’s something that our fans want,” Spencer said about developing first-party exclusives. “But I will also say we are going to create our first-party around the things that we feel like we need to do in order to stand up for Xbox. Sometimes we get suggestions of, ‘Where’s your X game?’ or, ‘Where’s your Y game?’ when people look at the other hardware platforms. But I don’t think our goal is to replicate what other people have done. It doesn’t help the industry to have people that are trying to do exactly the same thing with their platforms, services, or content.”

While Microsoft won’t try to directly copy the first-party strategies of Sony or Nintendo, Spencer said he feels confident that his teams are working on titles that will appeal to a broad range of players.

“I’m really proud of the diversity of content that our Xbox Games Studios teams are creating–genres, art styles, platforms, and gameplay,” he said. “Single-player, multiplayer, cooperative work that’s coming along. I’m just really proud of the diversity I’m seeing … and I think that’s going to continue. That’s going to be a mainstay for us. It won’t be about a certain kind of genre or a certain kind of story. The teams are really led by their own vision and what they want to build.”

Overall, however, Spencer acknowledged that Microsoft did not do enough in the past as it relates to first-party game development. “That’s an area where we need to do more, and we’ve done that [now],” he said.

Microsoft will showcase some of its first-party games, including Halo Infinite, during an event that is reportedly scheduled for July 23.

Trackmania kommt zurück – Das müsst ihr zum Nadeo-Racer wissen

Seit 2003 begeistern die Arcade-Rennspiele der Trackmania-Reihe Spieler mit Benzin im Blut. Mit dem neuesten Teil der Serie wird vor allem auf die Esport-Community Wert gelegt.

Am 01.07. kommt der neueste Ableger der Trackmania-Reihe in den Ubisoft- und Epic Games Store. Das Spiel trägt den simplen Titel Trackmania und soll so einen Neuanfang für das Franchise des Entwicklers Nadeo darstellen.

Wie üblich für die Serie, kommt eine Singleplayer-Kampagne, der Multiplayer-Modus und diverse Editoren, mit denen ihr neue Strecken bauen oder euer Fahrzeug umlackieren könnt.

Zurück ins Stadium

Wie die beliebtesten Ableger der Reihe wird auch der neue Titel fürs erste nur die Stadium-Umgebung und das entsprechende Formel 1-ähnliche Auto bieten. Dafür wird es eine Flut an neuen Blöcken geben, die ambitionierte Streckenbauer im Editor nutzen können.

Die mit Abstand größte Neuerung für das Franchise liegt wohl in dem Bezahlmodell des neuen Trackmania. So wird es eine kostenlose Version geben, mit der ihr regulär den Singleplayer spielen könnt, für den immer wieder neue Strecken veröffentlicht werden.

Auch der Standard-Multiplayer wird in der kostenlosen Version enthalten sein. Vom Streckeneditor wird es allerdings nur eine abgespeckte Version mit weniger Blöcken und Features geben.

Neben der kostenlosen Version könnt ihr euch den “Standard Access” kaufen, der euch 10 Euro im Jahr kostet. Dafür bekommt ihr weitere Singleplayer-Maps, den vollen Editor und einiges mehr.

Darüber hinaus gibt es noch den “Club Access” für 30 Euro im Jahr oder 60 Euro für drei Jahre. Mit diesem bekommt ihr Zugang zu Premium-Cups wie der Open Grand League und weitere exklusive Features. Final Fantasy 14's Delayed 5.3 Patch Has A New Release Date

Final Fantasy XIV’s delayed 5.3 patch will now arrive in August, Square Enix has announced. The update was originally scheduled to release on June 16 but had to be pushed back due to production difficulties that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I would like to apologize again to all of our players for the delay of Patch 5.3–Reflections in Crystal, which was originally scheduled to release on June 16th,” game producer and director Naoki Yoshida wrote on FFXIV’s official forums. “Although our development and operations teams, as well as QA testing, have experienced a number of setbacks due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), I am pleased to inform you that development production is back on course, and we’ve settled on a new patch release schedule.”

Yoshida went on to announce that Patch 5.3 is now scheduled to launch on August 11. “We did everything we could to try and release this update at some point in mid-July, but in the end, we determined more time was needed to thoroughly test and debug the next alliance raid of YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse and the new large-scale encounters of the resistance weapons content,” Yoshida said.

Although development on FFXIV has hit numerous snags due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Yoshida announced the team’s “primarily home-based work system is now securely established, and we plan to return to our regular release schedule of roughly every three and a half months after Patch 5.3.” Yoshida didn’t divulge any specifics as to what future updates will hold, but he shared a sketch of one thing the team has been working on: a tank.

Square Enix will share more details about the upcoming 5.3 patch in the lead up to its release. The company will air another Letter from the Producer Live broadcast on Wednesday, July 22, and it’ll add interviews and other updates to the 5.3 special site later this month. In the meantime, the Moogle Treasure Trove event is still underway in the game.

Hack Or Fight Your Way Through New Platformer For PS5, Recompile

Sony gave us another delightful indie reveal today for its PlayStation Indies initiative. Recompile has you exploring a digital landscape, either hacking or fighting to get by, all in the name of avoiding deletion. 

Phi Dinh, co-founder, programmer, and game designer at Phigames, answered some questions about the game on the PlayStation Blog. “You’ll play as a sentient virus, trying to escape deletion as you infiltrate the digital, virtual world of The Mainframe in an effort to achieve sapience and bring about the first technological singularity. Humankind depends on it, but how you accomplish this goal will be up to you,” he wrote. 

A new trailer today revealed the game for PS5, showcasing the platforming, third-person combat, and environmental hacking puzzles. You can go guns blazing, hack security systems for distractions, or even turn enemies against each other with your hacking powers. The environment is also hackable to get past locked doors or disable complex machinery. But just remember, how you play will affect the A.I. you create. 

“As you may have guessed, the game is all about creating the first self-aware Artificial Intelligence,” Dinh wrote. “The question is, what kind of A.I. will be created? The answer depends entirely on you, your play style, and how you decide to resolve certain narrative situations. Beat the game with destructive weaponry and an aggressive playstyle, and you’ll end up creating a similarly violent antagonist. You can imagine what kind of fate this kind of intelligence will have on the future of humanity.”

Furi Creators Bringing Co-Op RPG Haven To PS5, PS4

Developers The Game Bakers are taking a different approach for Haven compared to the studio’s last title, action game Furi. Haven is designed as a simpler, less-frantic PS5/PS4 co-op action/RPG.

Creative director Emeric Thoa says he was inspired by the game Flower and its chill gameplay. Although Haven has standard elements like crafting, different approaches to combat, and much more, the aim was to make things as simple and un-confusing as possible, doing away with complex skill trees, crafting systems, and UI overload.

Instead, Haven wants you to focus on controlling Yu and Kay as they explore the world – including enabling seamless drop-in co-op – and becoming invested in the couple’s story.

Haven was announced as part of Sony’s PlayStation Indies initiative, but does not yet have a release date for either version.
