Quincy Crew are the champions of OGA Dota PIT Season 2 Americas after a lower bracket run

Winning a tournament is always a special feeling. But doing it after a lower bracket run makes it all the more special, and that is exactly what Quincy Crew did as they defeated Thunder Predator 3-1 in the grand final of OGA Dota PIT S2: Americas to clinch the title and take home $10,422.

There were no group stages involved in the event, which started off as a double elimination bracket. Evil Geniuses, the most dominant team in NA and SA, were not playing, making it an open tournament with nearly every team having a chance of taking the top prize. It started off quite badly for Quincy Crew, losing 2-0 to Beastcoast in their very first series of the tournament. But they seemed like a totally new team after that loss, losing only one game in their lower bracket run to the grand final.

Thunder Pradator, who are forming a strong rivalry with Beastcoast to be the top team in South America, were dominant in the upper bracket, but could not keep up with Quincy Crew in the grand final. Although they didn’t win the tournament, it is encouraging to see SA teams raising their game to match up with the NA teams.

The next tournament on the horizon is the OGA Dota PIT S2: Europe. Alliance, Nigma and OG will all be on display starting on the 27th of July, which is when we will get to see a lot more of the new patch unfold.
