Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev’s contract with Evil Geniuses is officially terminated, the organization announced this Monday, thanking their former offlane player for his time spent under their banner.
RAMZES666 joined EG in the post TI9 shuffle when he left behind Virtus.pro and the CIS region as whole to start a new adventure in his career. EG meant the first venture outside the home region for RAMZES, who also made a role change to fit in the Evil Geniuses line-up. He got to play for EG from the offlane at the first two Majors of the 2019-2020 DPC season placing fourth at MDL Chengdu and placing second at DreamLeague Season 13. Following the world lockdowns and the travel restrictions imposed past March 2020 due to COVID-19, RAMZES was able to play only twice with EG in the online tournaments.
With the organization deciding to take a break for the rest of 2020, Ramzes was moved to inactive status within the team at the beginning of November and was allowed to briefly join a stack made by some of his former VP teammates and Syed “SumaiL” Hassan for EPIC League. Just Error, although regarded as the CIS super-team, was relegated to the lower division and finished just top six which led at full disbandment of the team after just one tournament.
The beginning of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit finds RAMZES without a team and given the DPC format, he has very slim chances to make it to The International 10 unless he is recruited after Season 1 by a squad that is already secured to play in the second season in one of the Upper Division of Regional Leagues.
Following EG’s official announcement from yesterday, RAMZES announced his free agency on Twitter and mentioned “new challenges” awaiting him.
RAMZES’ former Virsus.pro teammates Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko and Pavel “9pasha” Khvastunov have also missed the start in the 2021 DPC and are in the same situation with the CIS prodigy carry, looking to join an already established team in the second season of Regional Leagues.
