Singaporean esports organization Team SMG announced Wednesday that it has signed with global sports business agency SPORTFIVE as its commercial sales representative.
SPORTFIVE, formerly known as Lagardère Sports and Entertainment, will sell sponsorship packages to endemic and non-endemic brands and generally raise brand awareness in Asia on behalf of the organization.
Team SMG was founded by singer JJ Lin and former Dota 2 pro player and coach Kenchi Yap (who currently serves as its CEO). The organization competes in China, Malaysia, and Singapore.
In February, Team SMG acquired Malaysian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team Makan Cendol, and in July it signed a Singaporean team to compete in Valorant. The organization also competes in Peacekeeper Elite, PUBG, PUBG Mobile, and Arena of Valor.
Team SMG currently has partnerships with Under Armour, Nescafé, and U Mobile.
SPORTFIVE, which formally launched in August, represents a number of esports-related companies and organizations including Riot Games, RFRSH Entertainment, T1 Entertainment & Sports, and Krafton Inc.’s PUBG.
