Microsoft is launching its next big console exclusive this month, with the Forza Horizon 5 release date scheduled for November 2021.

But like in the past, the tech giant has given fans a way to play the game early, with an official Forza Horizon early access period beginning soon.

The good news for fans of the franchise is that anyone can do this by pre-ordering the right version of the game.

The downside is that it doesn’t include Xbox Game Pass and will also mean spending more cash on the final product.

No platform limits are in place regarding who can start playing early, meaning there is no clear incentive between Steam, Windows, Xbox One or Xbox Series X.

Microsoft has confirmed that Forza Horizon 5 early access start on Friday, November 5.

This period is only available to those who have bought the Premium Version of the game before launch, which includes various other in-game bonuses and incentives.

The Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 5 is also one of the most expensive game bundles available, and comes with the other big advantage of being able to preload the game on Steam and Xbox consoles.

For everyone else, the Forza Horizon 5 launch date has been set for November 9, and this includes those planning on playing via Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft has also warned gamers who might have already preloaded Forza Horizon 5 to either your Xbox console or PC before Oct. 21 to check for game updates on your platform of choice to confirm the complete game files are installed.

Doing so will ensure you’re ready to experience Forza Horizon 5 immediately once Early Access begins on Nov. 5 for Premium Edition and Premium Add-On Bundle owners, or on November 9 once the game rolls out globally.

Set in Mexico, Horizon 5 will make it possible to unlock a number of exotic vehicle types while exploring the country.

A message from Microsoft revealed more about the situation, telling gamers earlier this year: “As you play through Forza Horizon 5 and explore our expansive version of Mexico, you can expect cargo planes, an active volcano, a race to the festival under beautiful Mexican skies, and more.

“You’ll see exciting sights like the Ford Bronco Badlands atop the active, snow-capped Gran Caldera volcano, the 2020 Corvette Stingray tearing up the asphalt towards a dust storm in the Mexican farmland, and the Porsche 911 Desert Flyer crashing through the dense jungle tree canopy.

“We’re thrilled Ford and Mercedes-AMG fans can drive the year’s biggest vehicles in-game, thanks to their great partnership.

“And thanks to the capabilities of the Xbox Series X|S consoles, we knew we could dial-up the detail and authenticity more than ever before.

“For example, ray tracing in Forzavista – we get a new level of material response and reflections, that are more like what you’d see with your eyes in real-life.”

The Forza Horizon 5 preload will mean finding 100GB across Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Steam and Windows 11.
