The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley just introduced a new trailer for Tekken 8. The eighth installment in the venerable fighting series from Bandai Namco is looking pretty good. Built in Unreal Engine 5 the game is current gen only and is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and on PC for Steam.
The trailer features series favourites including King, Jin, Kazuya, Marshall Law, as well as more recent additions like Bob. As for the story it appears there is going to be a major battle between father and son Kazuya and Jin, which Tekken fans know and adore as the Mishima drama saga continues.
You can watch the trailer below, which is over a minute long, as Bandai Namco teases the story and gameplay.
Tekken 8 has a punchy tagline too, the suitably crunchy: Fist Meets Fate. Here is more information via Bandai Namco: "Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and exclusively available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Digital, TEKKEN 8 pushes the limits of new-gen hardware and technologies.
The game features high-definition character models built from the ground-up with high-fidelity skin and hair, along with immersive graphics such as muscles that shift to reflect character movement."
Bandai Namco says Tekken 8 continues the tragic saga of the Mishima and Kazama bloodlines and world-shaking father-and-son grudge matches. The game does not have a release schedule as yet, but we'll have more as we get it.
