Sonic Prime Is Coming To Netflix November 15

Sonic Prime will hit Netflix December 15, and it's now confirmed to have appearances from Knuckles, Amy, Tails, and more thanks to some new character posters.

It's been a long wait for Sonic fans waiting on news for the upcoming Netflix show, Sonic Prime. Aside from a few short clips that don't give much away and some leaked information, we've barely been given any information on the show aside from the vague promise of a "Holiday 2022" release date.

Well, the long wait looks like it's coming to an end as Sonic Prime now has a release date of December 15 (thanks IGN). It also confirmed that a new teaser for the show will be shown later today as part of Geeked: Toon-In, which will be airing at 5pm PST on Netflix's TikTok and Twitch channels, so we should also be getting a little bit more footage, possibly showing some of the characters we've not seen up until now.

Alongside the announcement of the release date, IGN was also able to share some brand-new character posters, confirming several characters that we didn't know were going to be making an appearance in the show until now. The new characters shown on the posters include Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Rouge. There are also posters for confirmed characters like Sonic (duh), Eggman, Shadow, and Big the Cat. IGN also shared the cast list for Sonic Prime, confirming new voices for most of the cast aside from Eggman.

Prime has remained a pretty secretive project from Netflix, with only a few bits of footage out there since it was first revealed. A leaked plot synopsis a few months ago gave our best idea yet of what it's about though. It read, "In Sonic Prime, the action-packed adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog go into overdrive when a run-in with Dr. Eggman results in a literal universe-shattering event. Desperate to piece his prime reality back together and save his old friends, Sonic races through the Shatterverse, discovering strange worlds and enlisting new friends in an epic adventure of a lifetime".
