Stardew Valley: A Complete Guide To Marrying Sam

Sam is a less popular bachelor found in Stardew Valley. This may be because he spends most of his time practicing in a band than he does try to further his career. His route can also seem a bit childish for some older fans as it actually entails sneaking in and out of his room. Like all characters in the game, though, the storytelling for Sam is great, and doing his path to mix things up can be a fun way to breathe life into your next playthrough.

Sam is easy to romance in general as he is one of the only characters that is happy with you for giving him a simple Joja Cola.

Sam’s Stats

Sam, likes most characters in the game, will give the player extra friendship points if he receives a gift on his birthday. He does have a job at the local JojaMart, but if the player does the community center route, he will lose it and say at home when it’s shut down.

Birthday: Summer 17

Home Location: South Pelican Town

Clinic Visit: Fall 11

Night Market Visit: Winter 17

Sam’s Schedule

Sams has a pretty simple schedule that is incredibly easy to minimize. Completing the community center can change his schedule, as can the player’s friendship with Penny. Like his friend Sebastion, he spends a considerable amount of time in his room. The player won’t be able to enter the room until they have two hearts with Sam.

Triggering Sam’s Cutscenes

Sams events are easy to trigger as you mainly just need to visit him while he is home. There also isn’t a lot of meaningful dialogue options in his event choices.

Two Hearts

Enter Sam’s house to find him and Sebastian in the middle of band practice. They will speak to you about what type of music you like.

Three Hearts

Go to the beach in any season other than winter on a sunny day between 7 am and 3 pm. Sam will be at the beach with his brother and talk a bit about his dad. This event only happens in year one.

Four Hearts

Visit Sam while he is home to trigger this event. Sam will drop an egg onto the floor, and when his mom sees it, she will begin to lecture him. You will need to explain what happened to her.

  • He Was Handing it To Me – Minus 10 Friendship Points
  • I Dropped The Snack – Plus 50 Friendship Points
  • Sam Dropped it on Purpose – Minus 50 Friendship Points

Six Hearts

For this recent, you simply need to go to town between 12 pm and 4 pm. You will witness Sam getting in trouble for skateboarding by Mayor Lewis.

Eight Hearts

Sam will visit your farm before 8 am to invite you to a concert. You will need to visit the bus stop at 4 pm to get a ride to Zuzu City and watch him play.

Ten Hearts

Sam will send you a letter, and then you will need to go to town between 8 pm and 12 am. He will sneak you into his house, and you will end up having to hide from his mom.
