Temtem, the monster catching MMO that’s eerily similar to Pokemon, will be landing on PS5 later this year. It’ll enter Early Access on December 8, with a full release on both PS5 and Xbox Series X planned for 2021.
Already available on PC, Temtem will feature crossplay between the two platforms – making it easy to join your friends on Steam when you decide to make the next-gen jump. While in Early Access, Temtem will give you four of the six planned islands and over 30 hours of content. On those islands you’ll find more than 100 Tems that can be battled, captured, and traded.
Temtem features a lengthy campaign, and once that’s finished there’s still a lot for you to discover. Ranked matchmaking, fully customizable characters, and even player housing will give you a reason to keep coming back well beyond the main story. If you’re deep into the world of Temtem you can attempt to battle Dojo leaders in difficult “weekly challenges, hunt for ultra-rare, specially colored Temtems called Lumas at the Saipark, or fish for one of many (10,368 to be exact!) variations of Koish at the Nuru Lodge.”
Temtem will be slightly discounted during Early Access – pre-ordering the Standard Edition right now will only cost $37.49. As new islands are added and content is expanded, that price will continue to go up. Opt for the Deluxe Edition and you’ll get a pack of in-game camouflage cosmetics.
The roadmap for Temtem includes more story content, new islands, dozens of new Temtem, additional multiplayer features, and more end-game activities. Our early preview last year found it to be an enjoyable MMO, and one that allowed for more strategy than traditional Pokemon games.
A full release date is yet to be announced, but Temtem is planned to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch sometime next year. Starting December 8, it will be exclusive to PS5 while in Early Access.
