Since its announcement back in September, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has garnered much popularity among the loyal Zelda fanbase, and now Nintendo is rewarding them by making the game’s first chapter available as a downloadable demo. Most importantly, the gaming company has assured that your saved data can be carried forward when the full game releases, so you won’t have to replay Chapter 1 again.
A successor to the original Hyrule Warriors from 2014, the new Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity serves as a prequel to the acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, set 100 years before its events. It’ll feature many of the characters from the 2017 title as well, including Link, Zelda, and the four champions Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa. Gameplay-wise, the new release will mainly feature hack-and-slash combat coupled with puzzle-solving elements, as well as the ability to unlock new weapons and skills, craft materials, and visit various shops to obtain new items.
For those interested, the demo for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is now available over on Nintendo’s website, with the full game releasing November 20.
Elsewhere in gaming, No Man’s Sky will be getting a next-gen update on time with the releases of the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
