No matter what or who you dressed up as this Halloween, you definitely didn’t look as good as the guy wearing this Galarian Weezing cosplay.
Choosing what to wear for Halloween, to a convention, or just for some around the house cosplay can be an arduous decision to make. There are so many options, all of which will require varying degrees of work and effort to bring to life. Take this impressive Cloud cosplay, for example, complete with a successfully hung Buster Sword.
Pokemon is always a good place to go when struggling for ideas. You’ve got the choice of characters like Ash, Misty, Brock, and almost 1,000 different Pokemon to try and transform into a costume. The likes of Pikachu and Squirtle have been done to death, although that doesn’t mean some more recent efforts are any less impressive. However, the first attempt we have ever seen at a Galarian Weezing cosplay is going to take something special to beat it.
Redditor Saijin96 posted a photo of himself wearing his creation and as you can see below, it’s pretty incredible. The costume features Weezing’s iconic marking on the cosplayer’s chest, and comes complete with the Galar variant’s green-tinged facial hair. He’s even got a stovepipe hat as tall as the one the Pokemon wears in Sword and Shield.
The costume’s coup de grace is the smoke emitting from the top of the aforementioned hat. It’s not as much as can be seen in the photo, as that would prove problematic when in an enclosed space. However, Saijin96 has revealed that the hat does have a built-in smoke effect, which Persona 5’s Joker was quick to take advantage of. Not the crossover we were expecting, but we like it.
Saijin96’s Galarian Weezing costume also bears a pretty strong resemblance to a character from outside of the Pokemon universe: Doug Dimmadome from Fairly Odd Parents. We can definitely see it, but Galarian Weezing was the first thing that came to our minds when we saw the tremendous cosplay effort. Now all we need is for someone grab a leek and don some feathers so we can see Weezing do battle with our favorite Galarian Pokemon, Sirfetch’d, which can now be caught in Pokemon Go.

Josh has been gaming for as long as he can remember. That love began with a mild childhood addiction to the Sega Genesis, or Mega Drive since he lives in the UK. Back then, Sonic 2 quickly became his favorite game and as you might have guessed from his picture, the franchise has remained close to his heart ever since. Nowadays, he splits his time between his PS4 and his Switch and spends far too much time playing Fortnite.
