Dreams has launched a brand new luxury bed with a twist. According to Dreams, the king-sized bed is said to combine functionality, comfort and style. It contains Ottoman storage, comes with a range of luxurious finishes and features optional Sleepmotion technology. The twist, however, is the bed has been designed specifically for gamers, so if you’re anything like me, don’t expect to get much sleep!

Known as The Drift, the newly launched gaming bed features a built-in TV, as well as storage for games consoles, a couple of nifty headset holders and USB ports on each side.

You can even grab a pair of matching bedside chests with stands for resting your controllers.

If you really want to take things to the next level, you can actually upgrade from a 32-inch TV to something even bigger.

Then there are the built-in LED lights, which frame the perimeter of the bed frame and headboard. It should help to create what Dreams describes as “the ultimate gaming atmosphere”.

You can pick up the Drift gaming bed in black faux leather with blue or green piping, or with grey fabric and black piping.

According to Dreams, the bed was developed during the pandemic, when more people were embracing gaming and other forms of entertainment.

“With over 50% of the population embracing gaming as a form of fun, entertainment, or distraction during the pandemic, the need for a comfortable space to unwind, relax and game has never been in such high demand,” reads a Dreams statement.

“As gaming becomes more popular, people want seamless ways to enjoy the experience, and so the Drift provides the solution to these needs.”

Dreams director of buying Fabio Perrotta believes that beds are becoming more than just a place for people to rest after a hard day.

“We’ve seen a real shift in attitudes towards gaming since the pandemic, as well as a demand in people wanting to enjoy the gaming experience in comfort and style,” he explains.

“Dreams understand that beds are so much more than just a place for us to rest our heads, which inspired us to create the first ever gaming bed available up to King size.”

Available in select stores, the Drift gaming bed comes in small double, double and king, with prices starting at £1,799.
