Fortnite Dataminers Claim To Have Leaked New Ruins Area

It’s not unusual for Fortnite’s battle royale map to change and evolve throughout a season, but the end of Chapter 2, Season 3’s water-themed event may see the map go through bigger changes than usual. As reported by Polygon, dataminers claim to have identified a new area filled with ruins that will be revealed as the water recedes. As of right now, we cannot see any of it, with the game’s recent The Device event flooding a huge portion of the map. This came in preparation for Aquaman’s challenges.

A map posted on Reddit shows the potential upcoming state of the map according to datamined images, with a new location in the top left corner of the map called “The Ruins.” Some have speculated that this area may have something to do with Aquaman, as the DC hero was introduced in the new Battle Pass. Our guide to all the currently available Aquaman challenges can be found here.

Since the start of July, the high water levels introduced at the start of Season 3 have started receding to allow full access to formerly flooded locations. The leaks suggest that the new ruins area will also be revealed as the water levels continue to recede throughout the season.

Epic has confirmed that the receding water levels will reveal a number of new roads across the island, with Season 3 adding drivable cars to the game for the first time. There are plenty of new challenges to be completed before the water levels recede completely, check out our full guide to Season 3 challenges here.

Fortnite: How To Land Choppa At Steamy Stacks

The third week of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 is nearly here with a number of new challenges that will have you clicking heads all over the map. A particularly tough challenge will take you to Steamy Stacks, the flooded factory located in the upper corner of the map. You’ll need to land a choppa at the bottom of Steamy Stacks. This guide will show you how to get to Steamy Stacks with a helicopter and help you land it right in one of those stacks. After you do that, you can take on other Season 3 challenges and get ready for Aquaman.

This challenge leaked early. However, July 2 brought with it the challenge and it’s still available to complete in the game. Log into Fortnite and complete the challenge so you can reap its rewards. These are releasing periodically, so keep checking back to see what the rewards are. There are challenges associated with all of them.

Where is Steamy Stacks?

Steamy Stacks is located in the top right corner of the map. It’s flooded after The Device event so you can no longer explore most of it. There are still some upper floors as well as rooms in both stacks that contain weapons. It’s separated from the rest of the map by water, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to locate.

How Can I Get a Helicopter?

Helicopters spawn in several regular locations across Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 3’s map. Be aware though: the spots with helipads are usually popular, meaning you may have to fight to get to your ride.

Here are a few locations where you can find a helicopter near Steamy Stacks and the rest of the map:

  • On the southern edge of The Yacht
  • At the top of The Authority building
  • At the southern end of Rickety Rig
  • On the western side of The Fortilla
  • On the southern edge of The Yacht
  • On an island in the river north of Misty Meadows
  • South of Catty Corner on the snowy mountain
  • East of Frenzy Farm

How Do I Land A Choppa In Steamy Stacks?

The helipad locations closest to Steamy Stacks are at The Authority and The Yacht, although you can get a helicopter from any of those locations and get to Steamy Stacks easily. Depending on the route of the battle bus you should drop at the location closest to you, immediately get the helicopter and then go straight to Steamy Stacks. Be aware of where the circle is once you start flying.

Once you get there you’ll need to pilot the helicopter slowly over one of the two giant stacks and slowly descend into it. It’s easier than it sounds since you have plenty of room and the helicopter is quite sturdy. Make sure you actually land the chopper on the little watch tower within the stack in order to complete the challenge.

What Reward to I Get For Landing The Choppa?

Once those propellers stop spinning you’ll get experience points to help you level up.

Fortnite Dataminers Claim To Have Found New Ruin-Themed Area

It’s not unusual for Fortnite’s battle royale map to change and evolve throughout a season, but the end of Chapter 2, Season 3’s water-themed event may see the map go through bigger changes than usual. Fortnite Firework Locations: Where To Light Fireworks For Captain America Challenge

It’s the third week of Fortnite: Chapter 2, Season 3, which means there’s a new set of challenges to complete in the game. With the Fourth of July just around the corner, fireworks have also begun appearing in certain places around Lazy Lake, and it seems they’re tied to a separate Captain America challenge. While that task is not actually live yet, here’s where the fireworks are located and what you need to do to complete the challenge once it becomes available. This way, you’ll be able to complete it immediately and get the rewards before anyone else. You’ll also be one step closer to getting everything this superhero-packed season has to offer.

Where Are The Fireworks Locations?

There are at least six different sets of fireworks around the island, and they’re all located around Lazy Lake in grid square F6. You can see the locations of all the fireworks we’ve found on the map below.

How To Complete The Challenge

Once you find a firework, simply hold the Use button to light it; the firework will then take off into the sky and explode into the shape of Captain America’s shield, as you can see below. Since this challenge currently isn’t live, you won’t make any challenge progress for lighting the fireworks just yet, but once Epic unlocks it, you’ll get a nice bundle of XP for your troubles.

There are a few other new challenges to complete in Fortnite this week, including one that asks you to land a choppa inside Steamy Stacks. Epic has also rolled out yet another Aquaman challenge, which will net you the Sea Shaka emoji and bring you another step closer to unlocking this season’s Aquaman skins. For help with other challenges, you can find all of our maps and guides in our Fortnite Season 3 challenges roundup.

Fortnite has a hidden island underwater reveal dataminers

Fortnite fans have found a new location hidden under the water and it looks like it’s going to turn into a home base for Aquaman.

When the waters inevitably fall in Fortnite, later this season, there’s a hidden island waiting to be revealed, as discovered by dataminers digging into the game’s secrets.

The island is referred to as The Ruins and has already started to rise to the surface today, although it’s still unclear what exactly it is.

Many have suggested that it’s a hangout for Aquaman, much as Deadpool got his own headquarters last season, although our extensive knowledge of Aquaman lore (by which we mean we checked the DC Comics wiki) doesn’t reveal anything called The Ruins.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=9FCRaSwU3W8%3Fversion%3D3%26rel%3D1%26fs%3D1%26autohide%3D2%26showsearch%3D0%26showinfo%3D1%26iv_load_policy%3D1%26wmode%3Dtransparent

It could be a reference to Atlantis but as far as we understand Atlantis is perfectly intact at the bottom of the ocean in the DC universe.

What we do know, because Epic has already said so, is that as the map slowly dries out roads will start to appear and so too will driveable vehicles (although not, it seems, cop cars).

The Ruins are at the top left of the island and, according to dataminers on Reddit, the map above is the final form of the island from the end of this season.

Season 3 isn’t scheduled to end until late August, so it may be that long until we see The Ruins in their full glory. Although considering how many delays Season 3 had in starting it probably won’t be a smooth ride to Season 4.

Fortnite: Save The World Leaves Early Access, Not Going Free-To-Play

Fortnite: Save the World has technically been in early access since its release in 2017, but that is no longer the case. Epic Games made an announcement explaining that this mode has left early access, and that the development of new content will be slowing down.

Save the World is essentially Fortnite’s campaign mode, and players must pay to access it. This stands in contrast to the free Battle Royale mode, which stole the spotlight. Epic had previously announced plans to take Save the World free-to-play, but those never worked out. With this new announcement, the company confirms that Save the World “will remain a premium experience rather than going free-to-play.”

All of your your current cosmetic purchases will continue to work in both modes, but Epic says that future cosmetic items released for Battle Royale won’t be supported by Save the World. If you have more questions about Save the World content (including the upcoming Ventures feature), check out the full post from the Fortnite team.

Fortnite is out of ‘early access,’ Save the World no longer going free to play

Fortnite is dropping its early access label, Epic Games announced on Tuesday, as part of a change to the game’s original survival mode, Save the World.

More importantly, Epic said that it’s reversing plans to make Save the World free to play, and will slow down development of the mode, which has long been overshadowed by Fortnite’s battle royale component. Save the World will also “no longer be able to support all upcoming Fortnite Battle Royale cosmetic purchases, but your existing library of cosmetics will continue to function in both modes.”

While Epic said that new content for Save the World will slow down, “the adventure doesn’t end here for Save the World.” On the game’s official blog, Epic wrote, “All paid Founders will have their Founder’s Packs upgraded to the next level and unlock all the rewards included in the upgraded pack … free, courtesy of Homebase! Ultimate Edition owners will be granted the new Metal Team Leader Pack and 8,000 V-Bucks.”

Fortnite’s Save the World mode is getting a new feature called Ventures, a “season-long excursion that takes place in a seasonal zone with new and unique modifiers to tackle.” Each seasonal Venture will have new challenges where players can earn seasonal experience and seasonal rewards.

Ventures will also usher in a new annual seasonal schedule, Epic said: “As we roll out Ventures, we’re shifting to an annual recurring seasonal schedule where existing in-game narratives and events, such as Frostnite and Dungeons, will continue on a seasonal rotation unique to Save the World and separate from Battle Royale.”

More details are available at Epic’s website.

Fortnite is no longer Early Access and it only took three years to get there

Despite being one of the most popular games in the world Fortnite has technically never even been finished, but it is now. Sort of.

Have you ever booted up Fortnite and be surprised that it still describes itself as ‘Early Access’? Well, as of today it doesn’t, even though nothing has really changed.

The reason Epic Games kept the description is mostly to do with the Save The World mode, which was originally intended to be the focus of Fortnite – Battle Royale was just a spin-off experiment at first, that they didn’t know would catch on the way it did.

As such, the decision to remove the early access label has coincided with the announcement that, despite previous suggestions to the contrary, Save The World will not be going free-to-play and will remain a paid-for experience.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=9FCRaSwU3W8%3Fversion%3D3%26rel%3D1%26fs%3D1%26autohide%3D2%26showsearch%3D0%26showinfo%3D1%26iv_load_policy%3D1%26wmode%3Dtransparent

Early access status will also be removed from Battle Royale and Creative modes, even though nothing has changed for them. But while they’ll continue to be supported as much as ever, support for Save The World will begin to slow down as it’s now considered to be essentially finished.

The only major change this will bring to players is that future Battle Royale cosmetic items will no longer work in Save The World, although it’s not clear when exactly that cut-off point will be yet.

All paid-for Founders packs will also be automatically upgraded to the next level, instantly unlocking all the rewards. Ultimate Edition owners will also be given the new Metal Team Leader Pack and 8,000 V-Bucks.

It’s a major milestone for Fortnite and also proof that you can never guarantee what’s going to be a major hit.

Save The World was supposed to be, but while most people have probably never even heard of it, Fortnite Battle Royale continues to be one of the most successful video games ever made.

Fortnite Season 3 Challenges: Deadpool Floaties; Ziplines; Foraged Items; And More

Season 3 of Fortnite: Chapter 2 is officially here. As is the case every time a new season begins, much has changed in Epic’s popular battle royale shooter. The island has completely flooded, and there are new AI enemies called Marauders to contend with and a new type of vehicle to commandeer: cars (although those aren’t actually available in the game yet). A new season also means new challenges, and if you need help with those, we’ve got you covered.

Every week in Season 3, Epic will roll out a new batch of missions to complete while playing. Clearing these will net you XP to level up your Battle Pass, which in turn will unlock new skins and other cosmetic items. This time around, there’s also a set of Aquaman challenges that will unlock special Aquaman skins when completed. Only two of these challenges are actually live right now, with an additional one coming every week, but you’ll need to clear all five to unlock the skins.

If you need help completing this season’s missions, we’ve rounded up all of our Fortnite Season 3 maps and guides below. We’ll continue to update this list with additional maps and guides as Season 3 rolls on, so check back often for the latest tips.

        • Use a whirlpool at The Fortilla
        • Use a fishing pole to ride behind a Loot Shark at Sweaty Sands
        • TBA
        • TBA
        • TBA

Use A Whirlpool At The Fortilla

The first challenge you need to complete to unlock the special Aquaman skin is to use a whirlpool at The Fortilla, one of the new locations on the Season 3 map. The Fortilla is located directly south of Holly Hedges, so all you need to do to clear this challenge is glide to the area and drop into a whirlpool. Once you’ve done so, you’ll unlock the King of the Beach loading screen for your troubles. You can see exactly where The Fortilla is located above.

        Week 2 Challenges

        • Use different ziplines at The Authority (8)
        • Search chests or ammo boxes at Holly Hedges (7)
        • Find Deadpool floaties at The Yacht (3)
        • Score a goal on a soccer pitch at Pleasant Park
        • Eliminations at Lazy Lake (3)
        • Headshot Henchmen at The Fortilla (20)
        • Gather or consume foraged items at The Orchard (5)

Find Deadpool Floaties At The Yacht

Season 2 may be over, but you can still find remnants of Deadpool’s pool party around the Season 3 map. For this challenge, you need to find three Deadpool floaties at The Yacht, the giant cruise ship that used to float around off the coast of the island. The Yacht was destroyed during The Device event that capped off Season 2, but you can still see its remains in the northernmost part of the map, and you’ll find four Deadpool floaties scattered around it. You can see exactly where The Yacht is located above.

Use Different Ziplines At The Authority

For this challenge, you’ll need to use eight different ziplines at The Authority, the new fortress-like compound that replaced Season 2’s Agency in the very center of the map. This shouldn’t pose too much of a problem; there are ziplines scattered all around The Authority, and all you need to do to use one is approach it and press the button prompt that appears. If you need help finding The Authority, however, we’ve marked its location on the map above.

Gather Or Consume Foraged Items At The Orchard

While much of Fortnite’s map radically changed in the transition to Season 3, The Orchard remains the same as it was last season. You can find it just north of Frenzy Farm, and you’ll need to go there to gather or consume foraged items. This is fairly straightforward. You’ll find all kinds of foraged food items around The Orchard, including apples beneath trees, cabbages in soil, and mushrooms in boxes, so simply collect or consume five to complete the challenge. You can see The Orchard’s location on the map above.

        Week 1 Challenges

        • Damage Loot Sharks at Sweaty Sands (200)
        • Deal damage within 10 seconds of landing from the whirlpool at Hydro 16
        • Enter Catty Corner Vault
        • Find Gnomes at Homely Hills (3)
        • Search chests or ammo boxes at Rickety Rig (7)
        • Land at Misty Meadows and finish top 25
        • Eliminations at Steamy Stacks (3)

        Find Gnomes At Homely Hills

After narrowly avoiding a full-blown war with the teddy bears last season, the gnomes are back in Season 3. For this challenge, you’ll need to find three gnomes at Homely Hills, one of the new locations on the map. The trickiest part is actually locating the area itself given how substantially the island has changed when Season 3 began, but it’s located to the northwest of Pleasant Park. Head there and search around a bit and you shouldn’t have much trouble completing the challenge. You can see exactly where Homely Hills is on the map above.
